Terms of Use and Lending

The books in the holdings of the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts arte available for use in the reading room or for lending out.

Entitled to borrow books are

• members of Vienna universities and academies
• members of other Austrian universities and academies who are Austrian residents.
• all persons who are residents of Austria.

Young adults under age (from age 16, or 9th class) need a written note of agreement and liability from their parents.
The loan period is four weeks; a lending card is needed. To be issued a lending card, you need to furnish photo identification and your resident registration form.

Generally, the University Library of the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts is open to use by anybody interested.

Books are available fro use in the reading room or for lending out.

There is a photocopier available for library users.

Databases on CD-Rom are accessible for research to all library users.

Books available for use in the reading room only are

• works published before 1950
  
• large-sized works,
• general works of reference,
• works on special display,
• particularly valuable works,
• periodicals

Photo identification is needed to use particularly valuable works, or works published before 1800.
