Applicants will be notified about the decision on their application by June for the winter semester and by December for the summer semester.

If you take up accomodation or change your place of residence in Vienna, you have to register with the municipal authorities (Magistratisches Bezirksamt ) of the City of Vienna with a proof of residence (registration form = Meldezettel) within three days.
EU citizens who stay in Austria for more than three months have to obtain a document authorising their stay from the City of Vienna (www.wien.gv.at; Department 35). This document (Anmeldebescheinigung) costs EUR 15.
Third-country nationals (non-EU citizens) need a visa to enter Austria. The type of visa depends on the duration and purpose of their stay in Austria.
Accident and health insurance
You are obliged to have sufficient accident and health insurance coverage for the total length of your stay in Austria.

Registration and enrolment
All classes at the Academy start in the first week of the term. It is absolutely necessary to be present at the first class meeting.
The Welcome Meeting for incoming students organised by the International Relations Office takes place in the first week of the term.
Upon arrival you have to pre-register in the Akademie Online System. For this registration go to the Study Department (Studienabteilung, Schillerplatz 3, room M3; opening hours: Mo to Fr, 9 to 12 a.m.) and bring two passport photos.
Students who take part in an exchange programme of a partner university (Erasmus or other cooperation agreement) to study at the Academy are exempt of the study fees, but they have to pay the students' union fee of approx. EUR 16 per term (obligatory membership of the Austrian Students' Union/Österreichische Hochschülerschaft. This fee includes a liability insurance valid in the buildings of the Academy).
Course Catalogue
The course catalogue (Vorlesungsverzeichnis) is available online via the Akademie Online System. Semester classes will be found online (Akademie Online System) in the month before the semester starts.

Your Transcript of Records (Datenabschrift, Sammelzeugnis) will be available at the end of the term, or the end of your exchange period, at the Study Department (Studienabteilung, room M3, Schillerplatz 3; stud@akbild.ac.at). Please check the Akademie Online System to see whether all your classes have been entered and confirmed by the respective professors.

The Academy offers a limited number of places in the following student halls of residence operated by ÖAD (Austrian Agency for International Cooperation in Education and Research): Molkereistraße, Tigergasse, Obermüllnerstraße, Türkenstraße.
