DESCRIPTION:The aim of the public workshop „Rasse“ und die ursprüngli
 che Akkumulation der Ästhetik ("Race" and the Original Accumulation of Ae
 sthetics) is to examine the entanglements of philosophical aesthetics emer
 ging in Western Europe in the 18th century with the dynamics of original a
 ccumulation described by Marx\, with particular attention to the construct
 ion of race\, which has so far received far too little attention in aesthe
 tics. In doing so\, the workshop aims to make a long-overdue contribution 
 to the self-enlightenment of the canon of Western aesthetics.
