In 2022, the 18th BEST AUSTRIAN ANIMATION FESTIVAL returns to the Filmcasino in Vienna, where Austrian animated film in all its diversity will be placed at the centre of the festival on the big screen. With films by students of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.

Organised by the University Library and the Student Welcome Center the Accessibility Day aims to raise awareness of the multidimensional topic of accessibility with a varied programme for many target groups.

Getting to know the queer literature of Turkey. This project, curated by Ece Özdemir, will show the past of a culture that could be called queer culture today and how it continues in the Turkish Republic, to this day.

The new Conversations program is intended to bring students and employees of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna into conversation with artists who are showing an exhibition in the city that goes hand in hand with key topics of the Academy.

In the concluding panel on questions of art, climate and activism, the artist Katrin Hornek and the artist Oliver Ressler will discuss perspectives of contemporary artistic interventions on the climate crisis with Vice Rector Ingeborg Erhart and the participants of the Action Day.
