Die Akademie der bildenden Künste Wien freut sich über die Förderzusage für das doc.funds Projekt "Artistic Research. Assemblages of Epistemology, Methodology and the Arts" im Umfang von 1,5 Millionen Euro für das strukturierte Doktoratsprogramm PhD-in-Practice unter der Leitung von Anette Baldauf und Renate Lorenz. Das Projekt „Ent/eignung. Post-Partizipatorische Ästhetiken und die Pädagogik des Grund und Bodens“ unter der Projektleitung von Anette Baldauf (Institut für Kunst- und Kulturwissenschaften, IKW) erhielt soeben eine Förderzusage im hoch kompetitiven PEEK-Programm (Programm zur Entwicklung und Erschließung der Künste) des FWF. Wir gratulieren sehr herzlich und wünschen alles Gute für den Projektstart!

Das Projekt „Genealogie der Amnesie“, das von Marina Grzinic am Institut für Bildende Kunst (IBK), Fachbereich Konzeptuelle Kunst geleitet wird, wurde ebenfalls im Rahmen der letzten PEEK gefördert. Ziel des dreijährigen Projektes ist der Aufbau einer interdisziplinären Plattform zur Erforschung gegenwärtiger Formen einer Politik des Vergessens. Herzlichen Glückwunsch und alles Gute für den Projektstart!

Weiters freuen wir uns über zwei PEEK-Projektbeteiligungen: Herzlichen Glückwunsch an Anamarija Batista, die als Postdoc am Institut für Kunst und Kulturwissenschaften (IKW) im von Antonia Dika an der Kunstuniversität Linz geleiteten Projekt “Kollektive Utopien der Nachkriegsmoderne. Die Adriatische Küste als Urlaubs- und Verteidigungsparadies” forschen wird.

Und wir gratulieren Almut Schilling (Institut für Konservierung und Restaurierung, IKR) zur Förderung als Partnerin im Projekt „Verrotende Klänge - über den zeitlichen Verfall von digitalem Audio: sich dem Verderben hingeben“, das von Thomas Grill an der Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien geleitet wird. Alles Gute auch ihnen für die Projektstarts.

Dr. Marta Anghelone wurde für das Studienjahr 2016|17 vom Bundesministerium für Wissenschaft, Forschung und Wirtschaft mit dem Award of Excellence ausgezeichnet. Ihre Disseration trägt den Titel „Influence of Synthetic Organic Pigments on the Photostability of Alkyd and Acrylic Paints, 2017" und wurde von Univ.-Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Dr. Manfred Schreiner vom Institut für Naturwissenschaften und Technologie in der Kunst und Ao.Prof. Dr. Egon Erwin Rosenberg von der Technischen Universität Wien betreut.

Die diesjährige Preisträgerin des Msgr. Otto Mauer Preis ist die in Wien lebende und arbeitende deutsche Künstlerin Toni Schmale. Sie studierte an der Akademie der bildenden Künste Wien Performative Kunst bei Carola Dertnig und Performative Bildhauerei bei Monica Bonvicini. Wir gratulieren.

Kunstpraxis, Vernetzung, Öffentlichkeit: ArtStart_Studio 2018 bietet eine Supportstruktur für Alumni der Akademie der bildenden Künste Wien, die für ihre künstlerische Praxis einen Studio-Raum suchen.

Projektleiter_innen bestehender FWF- (inkl. PEEK) oder OeAD-Sparkling Science-Projekte sind eingeladen Erweiterungsprojekte einzureichen, die eine aktive Einbindung von Bürger_innen in laufende Forschungsarbeiten vorsehen.

Innovative Training Networks (ITNs) sind gemeinsame  Ausbildungsprogramme für junge Forschende und Doktorand_innen in einem internationalen Netzwerk von öffentlichen und / oder privaten Forschungsorganisationen.

Gefördert werden grenzüberschreitende Projekte im Kunst-, Kultur-, und Kreativsektor.

Mit Hilfe von Spin-off Fellowships soll geistiges Eigentum einer Forschungseinrichtung soweit weiterentwickelt werden, dass eine Verwertung im Rahmen einer nachgelagerten Unternehmensgründung stattfinden kann.

Der FWF und seine französische Partnerorganisation ANR (Agence Nationale de la Recherche) organisieren auch dieses Jahr eine Ausschreibung für bilaterale Kooperationsprojekte.

New Talents ist ein Fotowettbewerb für junge Fotograph_innen (bis 25 Jahre).

Künstler_innen sind eingeladen, sich mit dem Thema „Kooperation als Gegenentwurf zu Konkurrenz“ auseinander zu setzen.

Die Künstlerstadt Kalbe ist eine soziale Skulptur. Kunst findet in neu erschlossenen Räumen statt, die kulturelle Begegnungen möglich machen. Für den "Wintercampus" werden Stipendien an Kunststudierende aller Studienrichrtunge vergeben.

Verliehen wird der Preis an eine/n inskribierte/n Studierende/n der Akademie für Arbeiten im medialen Bereich, insbesondere für künstlerische Fotografie, Video- oder (digitale) Medienkunst.

Das Institut für Kunstgeschichte der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) in München schreibt 2 Juliane und Franz-Roh-Stipendien zur Kunst der Moderne und Gegenwart (19.–21. Jahrhundert) aus.

Der Ernst und Rosa von Dombrowski-Stiftungspreis 2018 wird in der Kategorie "Bildende Kunst | Bildhauerei - Plastik"  in der Höhe von insgesamt 3.000,- Euro vergeben.

Die Literar-Mechana vergibt jährlich bis zu zwanzig Forschungs- und Doktoratsfertigstellungsstipendien. Die Förderungshöhe beträgt jeweils monatlich 1.500 Euro für drei bis maximal sechs Monate.

Die  Arbeiterkammer Oberösterreich  schreibt für das Jahr 2018 zum 35. Mal den   AK-Wissenschaftspreis  aus.

Das Amsterdam Light Festival ruft Künstler_innen, Designer_innen und Architekt_innen dazu auf, Projektideen für Licht-Kunstwerke einzureichen, die im Rahmen des Festivals 2018 umgesetzt werden können.

Am 1. März 2018 bietet der FWF einen PEEK Coaching Workshop in Wien an. Der Workshop richtet sich an Antragsteller_innen, die bei der kommenden PEEK Ausschreibung im Bereich der künstlerisch-wissenschaftlichen Forschung einen Antrag einreichen möchten. Die Teilnahmegebühr (für eine Person pro Projekt) kann bei Einreichung eines PEEK-Antrages von der Akademie rückerstattet werden.

Wie kann man Bürgerinnen und Bürger für die Mitarbeit gewinnen und begeistern? Diese und andere Herausforderungen und Potentiale von Citizen Science werden im Rahmen der Konferenz diskutiert, die vom 1.-3. Februar 2018 in Salzburg stattfindet. Das Zentrum für Citizen Science veranstaltet zwei Sessions zur Zusammenarbeit von Wissenschaft und Schule.

Die 14. Ausgabe des Journals for Artistic Research (JAR) wurde soeben veröffentlicht. Unter anderem mit einem Beitrag von Michael Zinganel und Michael Hieslmair, in dem sie ausgewählte Ergebnisse ihres Forschungsprojektes „Stop and Go: Nodes of Transformation and Transition“ präsentieren.

The Academy of Fine Arts Vienna is happy about the funding approval for its PhD-in-Practice Program within the doc.funds programme newly run by Austrian Science Fund (FWF). The project “"Artistic Research. Assemblages of Epistemology, Methodology and the Arts", led by Anette Baldauf and Renate Lorenz, has been awarded a grant of 1.5 mio. of Euros for four years. Our congratulations to the team and all the best for a successful project start in 2018!

The project “Dis/Possession: Post-Participatory Aesthetics and the Pedagogy of Land”, led by Anette Baldauf (Institute for Art Theory and Cultural Studies), has right now been selected for funding within the highly competitive PEEK-Programme for arts-based research run by Austrian Science Fund (FWF). Our congratulations and have a good project start!

The project „Genealogy of Amnesia: Rethinking the Past for a New Future of Conviviality”, led by Marina Grzinic at the Institute for Fine Arts, Studio of Conceptual Art, has also been funded within the last PEEK Call. Aim of this three years project is to set up an interdisciplinary platform about Genealogy of Collective Amnesia for the study of the current politics of oblivion. We congratulate the team and are looking forward to the research!
