Network for the Advancement of Women

Office for Equal Opportunities and Gender Studies

Implemented on January 1, 2004, the Network for the Advancement of Women is assigned to the Rector's office. It aims to promote equal opportunities and gender studies at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. Its work is based on the Plan for the Advancement of Women at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna (in german), the relevant statutes of the Austrian Universities Act, and the federal Equal Treatment Act.

The network's tasks comprise providing information, counseling and assistance in the area of gender mainstreaming, promoting gender-conscious organizational development, developing measures for the advancement of women and improving work-life balance, initiating and coordinating research and teaching activities in the area of interdisciplinary women's and gender studies, establishing networks both within the Academy and with other universities, as well as implementing European programs for the advancement of women in science, research, and art.

  • Initiating, coordinating, and developing research and teaching activities in the context of interdisciplinary women's and gender studies
