Highlights of European Painting

The Paintings Gallery is one of the three internationally important collections of Old Master Paintings in Vienna. The museum shows treasures such as the Last Judgement by Hieronymus Bosch, masterpieces by Cranach the Elder, Titian and Rubens, Rembrandt and his contemporaries of the Golden Age of Dutch painting, as well as works by Tiepolo, Guardi and the painters of the Viennese Academy around 1800.

Mit einer Neuaufstellung der Sammlung ist die Gemäldegalerie der Akademie der bildenden Künste Wien noch bis August 2021 im Theatermuseum zu Gast – seit November 2017 während der Bestandssanierung des Akademie-Gebäudes am Schillerplatz.
