Dissertation Completion Fellowships
financed with funds from the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy (bmwfw) in the course of the HRSM (Higher Education Structural Fund) 2013 tender.
The dissertation completion fellowship aims to support doctoral candidates in the final phase of their dissertation until the completion of their studies. Eight such scholarships are available for a duration of six months each, at € 1,000 per month. These fellowships are available to regular students of doctoral or PhD programs of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna or of the University of Art and Design Linz, Upper Austria.
The first Dissertation Completion Fellowships were granted in the academic year 2014|15, but also for 2015|16, such scholarships have already been awarded. We are planning to offer the next such fellowships for the academic year 2016|17.
Scholarships for students for scientific purposes
financed with funds from the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy (bmwfw)
These research scholarships, targeting regular students of doctoral or PhD programs of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, are advertised every two years. The scholarships are granted in the form of a lump-sum payment, for which the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy (bmwfw) has put a total sum of €5,200 at the Academy’s disposal. The Vice-Rector for Art | Research decides on the number of scholarships awarded, and on the grant sums, on the basis of a jury’s recommendation.
So far, these research scholarships for graduates have been awarded three times (academic years 2011|12 2013|14 and 2015|16). We are planning to advertise these scholarships also in the future.
