In the teacher training program Fashions and Styles - Textile Arts, we focus on fashions, clothes and styles as well as on current topics of everyday, pop and youth culture. In view of the fact that this is a school subject, the topics and design processes will be adjusted to the environments and aesthetic practices of pupils. Study foci are artistic-creative design competences, fashion design and projects in the subjects Fashions and Styles, Science Fashion, and Fashions and Communication. At the same time, students learn about artistic, cultural and social theories. The close links to the other teacher training programs at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna offer students the ideal combination of study fields. Recently, the course also includes Pedagogy, Arts and Culture as part of a pedagogical training at the Institute for Education in the Arts.

Graduates of the teacher training program Fashions and Styles are qualified to teach at secondary schools but have also gained practical and reflective competence for projects or teaching assignments in the cultural sphere, in knowledge transfer and in othercreative contexts.
