There are mobility months for an internship available to you. The internship may be done on a voluntary basis (in which case it will not be credited in the curriculum) or as part of your studies, if a traineeship is scheduled in the curriculum. Traineeship months not taken in the course of your degree programme may be used for a Recent Graduate Traineeship in the year (twelve months) following your final examination (diploma examination, completion of studies).
Diploma programme: 2 months minimum, 12 months maximum. Months used for an Erasmus exchange will be deducted or must be taken into consideration.
Bachelor, master and doctoral programmes: 2 months minimum, 12 months maximum; Months used for an Erasmus exchange will be deducted or must taken into consideration.
The following steps are necessary for your application:
- Go to the International Office to find out about the possibility of an Erasmus+ Traineeship. It is best to make an appointment for an advisory interview.
- 6 weeks before starting the internship, the nomination and a completed Learning Agreement for Traineeship form should already have reached the head of the curriculum committee in charge. Please note that the nomination must include precise information about the placement position (name, address, website).
- No later than three weeks before starting the traineeship, the nomination and the Learning Agreement for Traineeship must be submitted in person at the International Office.
- By the 1st or 15th of the month, you will receive notice via e-mail that the Erasmus+ financial grant has been authorized, so that you can start your traineeship either on the 15th of the same month or the 1st of the following month.
The nomination must be signed by the professor of your main art subject (your class teacher) and include details about the type of traineeship (Traineeship for Students or Traineeship for Recent Graduates) and any previous Erasmus+ programmes (months) taken. For doctoral programmes, the nomination must be signed by the supervisor of your doctoral thesis and also include details about the type of traineeship (Traineeship for Students or Traineeship for Recent Graduates) and any previous Erasmus+ programmes (months) taken.
The Learning Agreement for Traineeship must be signed by your employer, by the head of the responsible curriculum committee (curriculum committee of the degree programme at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna) and by the International Office.
A recommended level of language competence in the main language of work should be agreed with the receiving organisation/enterprise to ensure a proper integration of the trainee in the organisation/enterprise.
Trainees are obliged to participate in an online linguistic assessment (OLS) before and after the mobility. Students with a level of language competence under B2 (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) in the main working language of the traineeship are automatically invited to an online language course.
The payment of the final instalment of the financial support is subject to the submission of the compulsory online assessment at the end of the mobility?
Students are obliged to provide for sufficient insurance coverage in your host country individually (accident, health and liability insurance). If you do not hold a European citizenship please check the visa conditions in the host country of your choice individually.
