Lecture by Lara Schrijver, University Antwerp, and Tom Avermaete, ETH Zurich.

The annual lecture series at IKA in the academic year 2021/2022 will be organised in partnership with the EU research project Communities of Tacit Knowledge (TACK): Architecture and its Ways of Knowing, in which we are involved as one of ten academic partners.

The lecture is organised as a “TACK talk”, as a discussion between the partners in a hybrid format, and streamed via YouTube on the TACK website.

Due to the Covid-19-regulations the number of participants who can attend physically is very limited – a registration via mail to arch@akbild.ac.at is therefore required.

Based on current restoration projects in the department of Conservation-Restoration of Modern and Contemporary Art, the students have developed an ongoing presentation that deals with the works of various artists who worked closely with new materials and plastics, including Kiki Kogelnik, Birgit Jürgensen and Mária Bartuszová, Renate Bertlmann, Dorothée Golz.

The beginning of the ongoing exhibition will open on October 14th, 2021 and will be open to the public every subsequent Thursday from 3pm until 6pm.
