Studium der Philosophie an der Universität Ljubljana | Promotion mit einer Dissertation über die "Philosophischen Aspekte der Virtuellen Realität und die Veränderung der Raum- und Zeit-Paradigmen in den 90er Jahren" | Marina Grzinic lebt in Ljubljana.

Seit 1982 Arbeit als Videokünstlerin in Zusammenarbeit mit Aina Smid | Zahlreiche Ausstellungs- und Festivalteilnahmen, u.a.| After the Wall, Moderna Museet, Stockholm | Positionen , Museum des 20. Jahrhunderts, Wien | 100 Jahre Lacan , Sigmund Freud-Museum, Wien |  Europa, Europa, 100 Jahre Avantgarde in Mittel- und Osteuropa, Wien | Zahlreiche internationale Auszeichnungen für Videokunst, u.a. ZKM Karlsruhe  | San Francisco - International Film Festival | FIV Buenos Aires  und Nürnberg.

1997/98 Postdoctoral Fellwoship for Research der Japan Society for the Advancement of Science in Tokyo | 2001 Apex Residency Program New York | Internationale Vortrags- und Lehrtätigkeit u.a. an der Duke University, USA; UCLA, Los Angeles, USA; San Francisco College of Art, USA; IMI, Osaka, Japan; Merz Akademie, Stuttgart, Deutschland.

Forschungsprojekte sind derzeit: Virtuelle und ästhetische Konstitution des (Post)modernen Subjekts und seine politisch-philosphischen und epistemologischen Implikationen; Theorie der Virtualität und des Cyber-Space; Philosophie und Politik in der Postmoderne.
