The Academy of Fine Arts Vienna is inviting applications for the following position:


Stiftungsprofessur (Endowed Professorship) Central and South
Eastern European Art Histories

according to section 99 Universities Act 2002 (Universitätsgesetz 2002) at the Institute for Art Theory and Cultural
Studies from 1.10.2013 until 31.7.2014.

Requirements:

  • outstanding scientific qualifications in the field of Central and South Eastern European Art Histories, giving
  • particular consideration to the period after 1960. In terms of an extended concept of Art History the successful
  • candidate will interrelate with other fields of Art History, particularly the critical reflection of economic, political,
  • cultural and queer-feminist context as well as postcolonial theory formations and institutional critique
  • Austrian or international university level degree commensurate with the position
  • documented pedagogical and didactical qualifications (teaching language German and/or English) as well as a
  • statement about the classes to be taught during the term of professorship
  • capacity for the development and appreciation of the arts within the framework of the research activities at the
  • Academy of Fine Arts Vienna
  • knowledge of original language literature from the region

Teaching obligations consist of 4 units (2 courses) per week.

The gross monthly salary according to the collective bargaining agreement for university employees in group A1 is
currently EUR 4,571.20. Salary may be increased contingent upon candidates’ qualifications.
