ARTAGON.IV is an exhibition project by Anna Labouze and Keimis Henni in co-operation with 16 art schools including the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.

Stefanie Schwarzwimmer and Paul Mittler taking part in the fourth edition of the international exhibition of art school students. Selected by an international jury ARTAGON.IV brings together 32 artists from 16 art schools located between Paris and Moscow.

Heading East! After France in 2015 (ARTAGON.I), Switzerland and Belgium in 2016 (ARTAGON.II), and Western Europe in 2017 (ARTAGON.III), the journey heads East. This spring, an international jury made of 25 artists and art professionals visited 16 art schools located between Paris and Moscow to meet their students. They travelled across Eastern France, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, the Czech Republic, Serbia, Romania, Poland, Ukraine and Russia. Two students have been selected in each school.

Spread over 1000 sqm, the show highlights the works of these young artists based in Europe and coming from around the world. The students were mostly born after the fall of the Berlin Wall, grew up with the internet, and are now facing the issues shaking today’s societies: gender fluidity, boundaries and identities, the role of women, queer culture, globalisation, new technologies and overwhelming consumerism. The exhibition will take us into this generation’s stories, struggles, visions and quest for meaning.
