in this edition of Doc-News, we are pleased to provide you with an overview of our upcoming activities for the summer semester as well as inform you about ongoing calls.
The call for contributions to the Graduate Conference 2026, taking place on April 29, 2026, is open until March 17, 2026. The Graduate Conference provides a platform to showcase advanced-stage dissertation and PhD projects and to foster exchange and networking among doctoral students within the Academy. We look forward to your submissions!
This semester, the Center for Doctoral Studies once again invites you to an Open Door event. This informal meeting will take place on March 25, 2026, 13–14:30 h, and is designed to get to know one another and discuss current topics and questions related to the doctoral program.
On April 16, 2026, the workshop The Power of Presence – Cultivating Confidence and Impact in Presentations will take place. Participants will be guided through exercises and reflections to help them connect with their own presence, communicate with conviction, and bring clarity and authenticity to their academic work.
On April 22, 2026, we will focus on OeAW DOC fellowship applications in a Coffee Table Talk. Interested doctoral candicates will learn more about the requirements, preparation, submission process, and other aspects of applying.
Finally, on May 20, 2026, the workshop Resilience and Agency – Strengthening Our Attitude in Challenging Times will take place. The workshop aims to help participants identify and consciously strengthen their personal resources in order to remain capable of action even in times of high stress and uncertainty.
