Dear doctoral candidates,
the semester is soon coming to an end and before the summer break we would like to draw your attention to calls and funding opportunities with submission deadlines from September.
Until September 1, doctoral students at Austrian universities can apply for the OeAD's Marietta Blau Grant, which supports 6 to 12-month research stays abroad as part of a doctoral program. The DOC Fellowship of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW) supports highly qualified doctoral candidates from all fields of research – this year's call ends on September 15. Please contact doktoratszentrum@akbild.ac.at as soon as possible if you are planning a submission so that we can support you during the application phase.
For all those who have already planned to complete or have recently completed their doctoral studies and are aiming for a career in research, our Scholarship Early Postdoc Applications might be interesting. The current call is now open and ends on September 16, 2025.
And finally, we’re excited to invite Doctoral and PhD candidates of the Academy whose dissertation or PhD project is at an advanced stage to apply for our Dissertation Completion Fellowship, with applications open now through October 28, 2025.
