The funding measure supports researchers in systematically reviewing their research results and opening up potential areas of application in order to accelerate the transfer of knowledge and technology from publicly funded research and development.

The aws Proof of Concept programme addresses the "gap" in the early phase of the implementation of academic research and development results, which is often a problem for research institutions, and aims to provide impetus for the first step towards more efficient technology transfer. The program is financed by the Fonds Zukunft Österreich (FZÖ) and managed by Austria Wirtschaftsservice. 

Funding duration and sum

  • max. 12 months
  • max. 75% of eligible costs, max. 20,000 euros

Submission

Applications are possible again from 1 January 2026. The project selection for funding is continuously reviewed for technical plausibility using a 4-eye principle.
