Newsletter Art and Research, September 2023

Dear colleagues,
dear alumni_ae,

We hope you have had a nice and relaxing summer so far and are already starting a productive winter semester.

With this issue of the current newsletter Art | Research we would like to inform you about upcoming calls for proposals. In particular, we would like to draw your attention to the updated guidelines for the FWF Elise Richter, Elise Richter PEEK and PEEK programs. As of October 1, 2023, these three programs will switch to the new PROFI funding mode. The updated application guidelines can be found here for the Elise Richter and Elise Richter PEEK programs, and here for the PEEK program. If you have any questions about this, we are of course available at any time.

Furthermore, we would like to draw your attention to our Scholarship Early Post Doc Applications 2024, which aims to support early postdocs in the application for their initial postdoctoral research project. This scholarship enables the intensive preparation of a project proposal, which will be submitted with the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna as the home institution to funding agencies like FWF (ESPRIT funding program) or OeAW (APART GSK funding program) in the end. This call is open to all postdocs. Of course, we are happy to answer all your questions about the scholarship, so please don't hesitate to reach out.

We would also like to draw your attention to the upcoming Horizon Europe calls, which will run from early October 2023 to early February 2024. The wide range of topics of the calls addresses cultural and creative industries as an important part of the social dimension of democracy and sustainability, such as the New European Bauhaus.

We are very happy to announce that Sabine Priglinger will be taking over the agendas of the Center for Doctoral Studies during leave. Welcome to the team!

Finally, we would like to draw attention to the Academy's Open Access Publication Fund. It is important for FWF projects that PUR applications for peer-reviewed open access publications at the FWF are only possible until the end of the year. As of 2024, the new FWF Open Access block grant will be introduced.

With best regards from Art | Research | Support,
Michaela Glanz, Teresa Beer, Sabine Priglinger, Paul Reiter
