Junior Fellowships for doctoral candidates with Austrian citizenship or non-Austrian doctoral candidates supervised at Austrian universities.

The next call for applications will be launched for the academic year 2023/24. Successful applicants will also have the opportunity to participate in the IFK_Abroad fellowship program for research abroad planned for the academic year 2024/2025 (free choice of location and university abroad; participation is possible but not obligatory).

The dissertation project must be an interdisciplinary undertaking in the humanities, social sciences or art that addresses the study of culture(s), its issues and methods.

IFK_Junior Fellowships include a monthly grant of €1,650 and a workstation at the IFK with computer and internet access; the receipt of the scholarship is tied to residency at the IFK.

IFK_Junior Fellowships are granted for one academic year (October 1 to June 30), with the possibility of a scholarship abroad in the following year (maximum July 1 to September 30).

Applications can be submitted in either German or English.
