Auszeichnung für "Dont Know What" von Thomas Renoldner
Der Kurzfilm Dont know what wurde beim Ottawa Animation Festival ( https://www.animationfestival.ca ) mit dem Nelvana Grand Prize for Short Animation ausgezeichnet, dem Hauptpreis im Bereich Kurzfilm.
Austrian filmmaker Thomas Renoldner won the top short prize for his experimental short Dont Know What, which he describes as a “slapstick avant-garde film.” It’s rare for a non-narrative experimental film to top any animation festival, but the veteran short-form filmmaker managed to win over the jury.
The jury recognized the film “for its impeccably executed, playful exploration of the animated form, but not only that – it also stands out as a piece of art.”
Aufgrund dieser Auszeichnung ist Dont Know What auch für eine OSCAR-Nominierung im Bereich Kurzfilm qualifiziert.

Eine Woche später wurde Dont Know What bei Stoptrik Maribor mit dem Maribor Audience Grand Prix und dem Maribor Student Jury Award in Borderlands Competition ausgezeichnet.

Der Kurzfilm entstand in einer Kooperation von drei Laboren an der Akademie: dem Fotolabor (Drehort), dem Medienlabor (Kamera und Licht) und dem Labor für Animationsfilm (Schnittplatz).
Mein besonderer Dank gilt Ludwig Löckinger, der mit viel Geduld und Professionalität Lichtsetzung und Dreharbeiten durchgeführt hatte.
