Brishty Alam

Brishty Alam ist Mentee von Sophie Thun

Brishty Alam, born in London, lives and works in Vienna. She graduated in 2018 from the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna (Martin Guttmann, Michael Höpfner, Saskia Te Nicklin) and studied at HFBK Hamburg in 2016-2017 (Jeanne Faust & Yorgos Sapountzis).

Her practise is process-orientated and personal; informed by a hybrid way of encountering forms, themes and situations. Works are viewed as ‘intermediate states’ – moments of short-lived stability where structures are slow enough to be observed but continue to transform and feed into each other over a longer period. Exhibitions include De Sculptura #1, WAF Galerie (AT) 2020, Bobsche Combo, Austrian Cultural Forum Warsaw (PL) 2019, Brishty Alam , Parallel Vienna 2019 – Art Fair (AT), Fig. 2 , Center for Contemporary Arts / Likovni Salon Gallery (SI) 2019, Intermediate state , graduation show (AT) 2018, The Landing is on Friday – An Event of Speculative Ecology, Nyzhnje Selyshche (UKR) 2018, Formed into a soft mass , Foundation Vienna (AT) 2018, Stoff Band Nacht, Kunsthaus Hamburg (DE) 2017 and Parallax/Separating Care from Cure , Dr. Georgi Stranski University Hospital (BGR) 2016.
