Vortrag von Saul Marcadent / IUAV Venedig im Rahmen der Lehrveranstaltungen Moden und Styles 11.1 und 11.2, Konzeption / Elke Gaugele, und Realisierung / Simonetta Ferfoglia, Heinrich Pichler

The ever-stronger bond with the web has created, in reaction, a diffuse interest in printed paper and the desire for – slower and even visual – reading has come to the surface. This renewed interest in paper seems a reaction to the social dematerialization that occurred with the digital: forms of independent publishing promote real physical exchanges. Saul Marcadent  is curator of projects related to cultural and artistic production with a deep interest in printed magazines and books. His projects are always looking for a relationship, collaboration and analysis of a scenario; despite the areas are very different and the topics diversified, the common thread is that the starting point or the medium of communication remains the paper.

The seminar crosses few personal curatorial projects such as L’edicola, an installation focused on niche journals, Flou, a group show that investigates the link between fashion photography and independent publishing and Reading photographs, an exhibition curated in collaboration with three book collectors.
