E-Books on Demand (EOD)

The University Library at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna offers its readers the digitisation service E-Books on Demand ( EOD). A digital version can be made of every book published before 1900, the properties and quality of which allow for digitisation. The media units can only be digitised in their entirety, as whole work.

The EOD service is offered through the University Library's online catalogue OPAC. The EOD button indicates whether a book is available for digitisation. By clicking on the button, you are directed to an order page with which you can request a non-binding cost estimate or make a direct order. The order is processed with the EOD network's order system; the book is digitised within a few workdays and made available as a PDF on a personal tracking page. Books with publication dates after 1801 are automatically OCR (optimal character recognition) optimised.

Payments can be made with a credit card or with ClickandBuy. The costs of digitisation comprise the basic fee of EUR 10 per book plus EUR 0.12 per page. Already digitised books can be used by University Library readers free of charge.

More information on EOD is available on the information pages of the service company.
