Letterpress Printing and Lithography

The workshop for Letterpress Printing and Lithography is structurally assigned to the Studio Graphic Arts and Printmaking Techniques. The lectures offered aim to provide students with some basic knowledge and to encourage and enable them to make long-term use of printing techniques in their own artistic development.

In the winter semester: the course Technical Basics of Printmaking: Relief Processes 1 provides students with some basic theoretical knowledge and practical skills in linoleum printing and woodcarving. Students who wish to gain access to the workshop for Letterpress Printing in order to work there autonomously need to apply for a key. All the necessary skills are acquired in the course Relief Processes 1.

Both winter and summer semesters:

The course Technical Basics of Printmaking: Planographic Processes 1 provides students with some basic theoretical knowledge and practical skills in lithography. Students who wish to gain access to the workshop for Lithography in order to work their autonomously need to apply for a key. All the skills required therefor are acquired in the course Planographic Processes 1.

In the summer semester: the courses Technical Basics of Printmaking: Relief Processes 2 a nd Planographic Processes 2 serve to deepen students' knowledge and to improve their skills, in order to strengthen their expertise in the respective field.

In addition to these courses, students receive all the professional help they require to develop and improve their own expertise in this field.
