Ars Docendi: Recognition Award for Jasmin Hammer and Otto Krause
This year's Recognition Award in the Research-Related and Art-Led Teaching category went to Jasmin Hammer and Otto Krause from the Study program Scenography at the Institute of Art and Architecture. Our warmest congratulations to both of them!
The award was given to the teaching project Verschwinden, which began in the summer semester of 2023 and was initiated by the study program Scenography at the Institute of Art and Architecture. It examines the former pathology department at the Otto Wagner Areal using artistic and scientific methods to demonstrate ways in which a culture of remembrance can be sustainably established in our society through an entire building. Since 2013, the Ars Docendi State Prize has recognized the exceptional achievements of teaching staff. The Ars Docendi State Prize thus highlights the importance of higher education teaching and raises the profile of innovative teaching. The teaching project or course must already be implemented, and experience from its implementation should be available. Projects previously proposed and subsequently developed may be resubmitted and should be marked accordingly.
The Ars Docendi State Prize for Excellent Teaching is awarded in five thematic categories, each endowed with €7,000.
- Category 1: Learning Outcomes-Oriented Assessment and Teaching Culture
- Category 2: Society- and Sustainability-Oriented Teaching
- Category 3: Cooperative Teaching and Working Methods
- Category 4: Research-Related or Art-Led Teaching
- Category 5: Improving the Quality of Teaching and Studyability
