International Office: Blended Intensive Programme at Schillerplatz
The Blended Intensive Programme Mental Health in Higher Education in the framework of the Erasmus+ Programme, initiated and hosted by the International Office of the Academy, took place from June 23 to 27, 2025, at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and was a success.
A total of 17 participants from Germany, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, Poland, and Estonia attended – including both academic and administrative staff.
A core component of the programme was the certified Mental Health First Aid course, which provided participants with essential knowledge about mental health conditions. The training emphasized early detection, effective communication during mental health crises, and practical support strategies. Through interactive group work and role-plays, they practiced how to respond with confidence and empathy in real-life situations.
The goal was to reduce stigma, promote mental health awareness, and strengthen support systems within higher education institutions.
The programme also included a preparatory online session, guided tours, a student diploma exhibition, and ample opportunities for international networking. All participants received a certificate of attendance, with many earning official Mental Health First Aider certification.
