The Study Day is comprised of a workshop  (10–13 h) on The Human Figure in Modern Art. Nijinsky's L‘Après-midi d'un faune (1912) and a book presentation & discussion (17–18 h).

Emmelyn Butterfield-Rosen is the author of the groundbreaking book Modern Art & the Remaking of Human Disposition (The University of Chicago Press, 2021) and, as of September 2023, Assistant Professor at the Institute of Fine Arts at New York University.

You are also kindly invited to attend Emmelyn Butterfield-Rosen‘s lecture A New Look at the Beethoven Frieze, which will be held on the occasion of Secession’s 125th anniversary on Thursday, 16.11.2023, 6.30 h.
