Mirjana Mustra, with Daria Polishchuk
Unfortunately, the exhibition must be postponed due to illness, the new date will be announced as soon as possible.

For ONE DAY EXHIBITION, I present a video work on the connections between women worldwide, united against patriarchy and gore capitalist exploitation of our bodies. In the video, Daria and I knit and sing as our mothers and grandmothers did. We celebrate life. The empowerment we give each other is the strength that keeps us alive. We resist. We live.

Mirjana Mustra (Belgrade, 1978) is a multi-media artist who works on the fusion of fine arts, performance, and fashion. The experiences of a woman, a migrant, and Gastarbajterka shaped her artistic position. She experiments with collective action such as knitting, cooking, and ritual as an activist practice and explores their potential for empowerment and political activation in everyday life.

The presentation takes place in the One Day Exhibitions series, in which students from the faculty of Kunst und Bildung and Gestaltung im Kontext present artistic and designed works in the context of their work. These will take place every three weeks in the summer semester 2022 both at the IKL and online in the Virtual Gallery IKL (

The exhibition series is supervised by Christoph Urwalek, Elke Krasny, Joonas Lahtinen,  Sophie Lingg, Lena Fritsch, Valerie Lange, Miriam Raggam, Teresa Gatterer, Maria Kaufmann, ÖH IKL and the Atelier IKL.
