A Workshop  by Dunia Khalil, organized by Claudia Lomoschitz, Art and Education program.

In this lecture, the work of the Documentation and Counselling Centre on Islamophobia and Anti-Muslim Racism (Dokustelle) will be presented, along with an overview of current developments in anti-Muslim discrimination in Austria. The talk will explain key concepts and mechanisms to foster a deeper understanding of the structures and dynamics of anti-Muslim racism. In addition, practice-oriented tools and strategies will be introduced to help identify, reflect upon, and counter discrimination in both professional and everyday contexts. The aim of the lecture is to deepen knowledge, raise awareness, and contribute to an anti-racist practice.

Dunia Khalil is an expert, researcher, and long-standing legal advisor in the fields of anti-racism and hate speech, with a particular focus on anti-Muslim racism and racist police violence. As a certified trainer, she designs practice-oriented workshops and trainings that emphasize diversity of perspectives and anti-discrimination. She is active nationally and internationally in numerous networks, working groups, and organizations. Currently, she heads the legal counselling services of both the Documentation and Counselling Centre on Islamophobia and Anti-Muslim Racism and the ÖH Anti-Racism Department at the University of Vienna.

The Documentation and Counselling Centre on Islamophobia and Anti-Muslim Racism (Dokustelle) was established in 2014 as a civil society initiative. Since then, it has documented cases of anti-Muslim racism in Austria and publishes an annual Anti-Muslim Racism Report.
