Steps Toward an Ecology of Perception and Mind—Building a Participatory, Holistic Relationship with the World
A lecture by Daniel Körner as part of the Lectures for Future series, hosted by Kunst und Raum | Installation.
This lecture explores how we make sense of the world—how we come to “know” it—and how that understanding shapes the ways we interact with, manipulate, and respond to it.
Drawing on Gregory Bateson and other philosophers, neuroscientists, and biologists, we examine how perception in everyday life and in scientific practice is conditioned by many factors. Religion, education, culture, and our scientific epistemologies all filter and frame what we perceive and, in turn, shape the solutions we imagine for today’s great challenges.
The lecture will be in English.
