Bucherer Sponsorship Award for Academy graduate Andrea Zabric

Andrea Zabric, a graduate of the Master in Critical Studies at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, received the Bucherer Sponsorship Award, endowed with 5,000 euros. In addition to the award ceremony in the Bucherer Salon at Graben, her work was also on display for three weeks in the windows of the store on the corner of Kärntnerstrasse and Graben.

Andrea Zabric: "I am very happy about this award and the opportunity to present my works in a different context - my objects were also on display in the Bucherer shop windows for three weeks. Pigments are the main protagonists of my work - the body of colour and the most important building block of painting. My aim was to give it a new visibility."

Members of the expert jury: Franz-Josef Baur (artist), Martin Traxl (ORF-TV, Head of Culture), Ingeborg Erhart (Vice Rector for Art and Teaching at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna), Luisa Kasalicky (lecturer at the Institute of Fine Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna)

Besides Andrea Zabric, Yulyia Hiazun, a student of the fashion class at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, also received a sponsorship award.
