Aarhus School of Architecture is pleased to announce up to six three-year PhD fellowships related to the strategic focus areas of Aarhus School of Architecture: Transformation, Habitation and Sustainability.

The PhD fellows will be affiliated with the three newly created Research Labs at Aarhus School of Architecture:
- Territories, Architecture and Transformation
- Technology and Building Cultures
- Emerging Architectures

Aarhus School of Architecture seeks applicants who can contribute with innovative research projects within one of the three focus areas of our research labs.Aarhus School of Architecture encourages applications that are based on Research-by-Design but also welcomes theoretical applications.

The PhD fellows are to undertake a PhD programme in order to acquire a PhD degree in architecture. The PhD programme is a three-year scientific course of studies. The position also involves teaching and dissemination related to the research project. The position starts on 1 September 2016.

Requirements for applicants and applications

Aarhus School of Architecture is looking for PhD fellows with a relevant academic background on the master’s level.

The application should contain a project description relating to one of the focus areas of the three research labs. The description must include a description of the research subject, a research question, a description of theoretical and methodical approaches, a brief timetable and reflections on the expected outcome of the study. The total length of the application should not exceed six pages (A4).
In addition to this, the applicant must submit a copy of his or her Master’s degree diploma, a brief CV and possibly a portfolio (Max 20 MB).All uploaded documents are to be marked ”2313/9-16”. State name and address on the first page of the application.
