The association of artists and art admirers "Kornjača", based in Belgrade, wishes to open the door of its gallery to young artists from Austria in the project "Encounter".

Usually space is given to young artists who have not yet exhibited and in the past the annual exhibition was orgnazid for newly graduated Serbian artists.

This year we would like to expand this exhibition with the participation of young artists – recently graduated BA (and MA) art students from Akademie der bildenden Künste Wien, are welcome to apply.

The exhibition "Encounter" shows drawing as the basis of all visual arts, intertwines and expands the boundaries of traditional and classical drawing, which over time is neglected in the art scene. Drawing represents the most intimate part of the creator's personality, reveals his/her true sensibility, and as such should not and must not be neglected.

This project is supported by the Austrian Cultural Forum Belgrade which will cover travel cost, accommodation and a fee for two selected participants.

The exhibition will be opened in August 2024 and will last for one month (1.08. -31.08.2024).

We are inviting newly graduated artists to submit their applications to the email: kornjacaudruz@gmail.com

Conditions for the application:

  • The theme of the exhibition is OPEN.
  • Technique: Drawing
  • Please provide a short (max. 200 words) resume, description of your work, your current inspiration as an artist, and the ideas that you are exploring.
  • Up to five works should be sent in JPG format (max 1 MB each).
  • Deadline: 29 February 2024
