Horizon Europe | New European Bauhaus 2026
New European Bauhaus (NEB) is a policy and funding initiative of the European Commission that aims to make green transition in built environments and beyond enjoyable, attractive and convenient for all. The initiative promotes solutions that are not only sustainable, but also inclusive and beautiful, while respecting the diversity of places, traditions, and cultures in Europe and beyond.
Destinations and topics
In the NEB Work Programme 2026/2027, three "Destinations" with several topics have been formulated. These include, among others:
Destination 1 – Connecting the green transformation, social inclusion and local democracy
- Innovative approaches for the spatial design of neighbourhoods (HORIZON-NEB-2026-01-PARTICIPATION-02)
Destination 2 – Circular and regenerative approaches for the built environment
- Advancing sustainable maintenance and repair measures for existing buildings (HORIZON-NEB-2026-01-REGEN-02)
- Innovative solutions for the sustainable and beautiful use of vertical space (HORIZON-NEB-2026-01-REGEN-03)
Destination 3 – Innovative funding and new business models for the transformation of neighbourhoods
- Structurally addressing homelessness through coordinated social infrastructure and services in neighbourhoods (HORIZON-NEB-2026-01-BUSINESS-01)
- Approaches to reuse vacant, obsolete or underutilised spaces (HORIZON-NEB-2026-01-BUSINESS-03)
Submission
The submission period lasts from 5 May to 1 December 2026, 17 h.
