What is the Working Group on Equal Opportunities?
The Working Group on Equal Opportunities (AfG) is a body established under the University Act. Its primary role is to combat discrimination and provide advice and support to members and governing bodies of the university. The AfG offers information, confidential counseling and assistance in cases of discrimination and unequal treatment.
In which cases does the Working Group provide support?
Students, staff members and applicants (whether for study programs or employment at the Academy) are encouraged to contact the Working Group in the following situations:
If they experience or suspect direct or indirect discrimination based on gender, ethnicity, religion or belief, age or sexual orientation.
In cases of harassment, bullying, workplace mobbing or bossing related to the above grounds.
Anyone who has witnessed discrimination or unequal treatment is encouraged to reach out to the AfG for support
How does counseling work?
If you suspect discrimination, you can contact the Working Group office via email, phone, or in person during office hours. All inquiries are handled confidentially and, upon request, anonymously. No action will be taken without your explicit consent!
Important: Please be aware that some legal steps are subject to deadlines. Therefore, the Working Group recommends contacting us as soon as possible after the occurrence.
What can the Working Group do in response to a complaint?
- File the report (a confidential record is kept at the Working Group office)
- Facilitate dialogue between the individuals involved
- Refer you to appropriate internal or external bodies or counseling services
Engagement with the Working Group on Equal Opportunities is open to all members of the Academy. If you're interested, we look forward to hearing from you!
