The Federal Ministry for Housing, Art, Culture, Media and Sports (BMWKMS) offers funding in the field of film. Among others, funding is awarded for project development as well as production of avant-garde and experimental films as well as animation, documentary and feature films.

The project "Kooperativ Ternitz" is organizing an Artist-in-Residence (AIR) Program in spring/summer 2026 in a former workers' settlement in the Lower Austrian municipality of Ternitz. Under the motto "Cooperative Dreiersiedlung," artists from different fields are invited who want to support the transformation process of the Dreiersiedlung with artistic impulses.

The Dissertation Award for Research on Migration is awarded for a doctoral thesis project that has been submitted and accepted for supervision at an Austrian university but is yet to be completed and examines refugeeism and migration, the integration of migrants or societal transformation as a result of migration.

The 29th Festival for Motion Picture Communication will take place 12–13 March 2026 in Stuttgart. Spotlight STUDENTS is a young talent competition for spots and other motion picture formats produced by film students.
