Elsy Lahner, Curator Albertina Wien
Elsy Lahner is mentor of Željka Aleksić.
Elsy Lahner has been a curator at the Albertina in Vienna since 2011 and, since 2024, has served as Deputy Chief Curator for Contemporary Art. Her recent projects include exhibitions on Damien Hirst, Robert Longo, Bruno Gironcoli – Toni Schmale, Yoshitomo Nara, Ai Weiwei, Muntean Roseblum, and Xenia Hausner. Prior to that, she worked as an independent curator and, from 2007 to 2011, co-founded and directed the exhibition space das weisse haus together with Alexandra Grausam.
Among other roles, she served on the Advisory Board for Fine Arts of the Austrian Federal Chancellery (BKA) from 2014 to 2016, was a jury member for the Strabag Artaward International from 2015 to 2017, and has been on the jury for the City of Vienna’s Prize and Sponsorship Awards for Fine Arts since 2023. In 2009/2010, she was Curator-in-Residence at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, and until 2017 she was a mentor in the BKA’s Women’s Mentoring Program.
