Katja Stecher | Curator and Director Kunstverein Baden

As an art educator and curator, Katja Stecher works at the interface of these two practices and is interested in the structural conditions of the art world, starting with her critical examination of the Open Call. From 2015 to 2023, she was in charge of the studio and residency program of STUDIO DAS WEISSE HAUS and has realized exhibitions such as Nonstop (Kunstverein Schattendorf) and Playing String playing string figures (Kunstverein Baden). In 2022, she received the federal government's scholarship for a curatorial residency at the Cité internationale des arts in Paris and was a lecturer in the Department of Site-Specific Art at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. Katja Stecher is currently the artistic director of Kunstverein Baden and works in the art mediation department at the Belvedere. She is a member of the studio jury of the Province of Styria and of the committee for art in public space in Lower Austria.
