Karolina Malwina Gruschka is mentee of Renan Laru-an

Karolina Malwina, born in 1985 in Tychy, Poland, completed her studies in 2022 in the field of video and video installation under Dorit Margreiter at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. She currently lives and works in Vienna.

Her works navigate between installative and time-based interpretations of a complex encompassing network structures, archives, as well as feminist and political discourses, closely interwoven in research and artistic practice. Her thesis HexCon - reimagining human rights through Twitter and glitch was awarded the annual prize by the Society of Friends of Fine Arts in 2022.

In 2021, she co-founded Flimmer.Club with Sasha Pirker, a virtual bar for presenting, mediating, and receiving art, video, and film. Her contributions and collaborations include exhibitions at venues such as Size Matters. Raum für Kunst und Film, Parallel Vienna, Kubus EXPORT, and most recently at Belvedere21.
