Mila Balzhieva | Bmkös

Mila Balzhieva, *1991 in the republic of Byryatia, Ulan-Ude/Russland. Based in Vienna. From 2010-2015 she studied graphic design at the Moscow State University of Design and Technology; from 2018-2023 at the University of Applied Arts Vienna.

Mila Balzhieva is a multidisciplinary artist, researcher, and designer. She explores the realms of multispecies conviviality, language, shamanism, and symbiotic relationships through various artistic mediums, including biomedia, textiles, video, and drawing. Her work delves into the concepts of post-humanism, the Anthropocene, and magic.

Participated in projects with CERN, Biobank Graz, the Venice Biennale education program, and Vienna Design week.
