Mafalda Rakoš, * 1994, interdisciplinary practice originates in photography and extends into film, drawing, painting, and collage. She frequently collaborates closely with a diverse range of co-authors, spanning strangers, friends, and fellow artists. These works lie at the intersection of art, anthropology, and documentary photography, with a strong emphasis on dialogue and mutual decision-making.
She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and holds degrees from the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague (KABK) and the University of Vienna's Institute for Cultural and Social Anthropology, where she currently teaches as a guest lecturer.
Her work has been nominated and awarded internationally several times, and was shown in solo and group exhibitions across Europe, as well as outside the art context e.g. at conferences on eating disorders or the General Hospital in Vienna. Her fourth photo book, All in this together, was published in 2024 by Eriskay Connection (NL).
