Siggi Sekira
Siggi Sekira is mentee of Maruša Sagadin.
Siggi Sekira, born in 1987 in Odesa, Ukraine. Sekira’s artistic practice focuses on ceramics and pencil drawings, in which Ukrainian and Slavic folklore, as well as personal memories, are interwoven into narrative forms. Her works often revolve around mermaids and forest spirits—figures that embody both strength and vulnerability, reflecting complex facets of femininity. Infused with autobiographical fragments, her sculptures explore passion, mortality, queer narratives, and resilience within post-apocalyptic landscapes that mirror the uncertainties of our present.
Recent exhibitions have been presented at Kunstraum Niederösterreich (Vienna, 2025), Casino Luxembourg (2025), the Austrian Cultural Forum Warsaw (2024), and Belvedere 21 (Vienna, 2023).
