The University Library's charity book bazaar for the benefit of the non-profit organization Hemayat, a center for psychotherapy, psychological consulting, and medical support for survivors of war and torture.

In the historical ambience of the University Library, artistically designed by Theophil Hansen, you will discover a colorful selection of books, exhibition catalogs, and specialist journals from all areas of art, architecture, and art theory, provided by the institutions, collections, and staff of the Academy as well as the patrons of the University Library.

Rummage – discover – browse – breathe history – donate! Pay what you can! Thank you!

Your donations will benefit the Hemayat non-profit organization, which was founded in 1995 and has established itself in Vienna as a center for interpreter-mediated trauma therapy care and treatment for survivors of torture and war.

Support at Hemayat is free of charge for all clients who find their way to the association through referrals from social services or word of mouth. In 2022, 1441 people from 56 countries received support.

Hemayat relies on the support of many institutions and on your donations to finance the extensive therapeutic concept, including community interpreting as well as sports and movement therapy.

We support people who have experienced terrible suffering.
We help them learn to live with the consequences of the horror.
We accompany them on their path through grief.
We work with our clients to find a path to a new future.
We offer help that makes integration in our country possible.
