„Vernetzung“ (meaning something like interconnectedness / connectivity / network / linkage)
The IKL (Institute for Education in the Arts) Atelierkollektiv (Studio-Collective) is a group of students who autonomously organize a space for artistic work. The members work in diverse fields and express themselves in a variety of forms. They regularly meet to share ideas and plan events. See our works in the very space they are created. The topic of this year’s exhibition by the Atelierkollektiv is “Vernetzung” – because the Rundgang is for making new connections, and so do we as an artists’ collective!
In a time of individualism, when everyone is fending for themselves, we try to create a space for community, where we can exchange ideas and help each other. We each bring a set of very different skills and resources to the table and strive to connect within our artistic work as well as the results from it. The art we create is as diverse as our approaches and techniques, from painting to ceramics, from installations to performance, from textile art to graphic design.
As aspiring art educators, it is always important to us to present and practice art as something open, connecting, and exciting. To weave a web…
