The group exhibition of the 9th edition of the Different Worlds 2021 will present works by ten selected artists of the open call for young artists (up to 35 years of age) in the field of contemporary art photography from the CEE region.

The selection of the artists was in the hands of an international 3-member jury, composed of Martin Fojtek, the director of the renowned Galerie Fotografic in Prague, Jošt Dolinšek, the winner of the Different Worlds 2020, and Špela Pipan, a curator at Photon Gallery.

The first prize, amounts to 1.000€ for the production cost of a solo exhibition at Photon Gallery Vienna in 2022.

Aaron Kimmig is a Vienna-based digital artist and activist working in the fields of technology, social movements and swarm work.  He has a BA in International Development and is currently part of the Studio for Post-conceptual art/IBK/ Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. Kimmig spends the rest of his time with his 2 daughters developing websites for political projects in the convivial.garden collectiv.

Yela An is born in Seoul, South Korea, and based in Vienna since 2011. She studied in Studio for Post-conceptual art/IBK/ Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. She is currently a PhD in Philosophy candidate at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna.
