Weekend of Graphics 2025
Focus tour in the Paintings Gallery
The Weekend of Graphics – an initiative in Germany, Austria and Switzerland since 2009 – focuses on very “shy” artworks on paper. These works are very sensitive to light, which is why they are rarely seen in public and are usually kept in storage.
The current exhibition at the Paintings Gallery, Considering the Collection & The Day You Were Thinking About the Sibyl While You Were Picking Autumn Leaves An Insert by Ana Torfs, also features a selection of graphic works from the Graphic Collection. As part of Weekend of Grapghics, the art collections are offering a guided tour with a special focus on the prints after Michelangelo Buonarroti, Giacomo Conca, Vincenzo Dolcibene, Francesco Giangiacomo, Hans Holbein the Younger, Girolamo Francesco Mazzola known as Il Parmigianino, Nicolas Poussin, Guido Reni, Raffaello Santi known as Raffael, Salvator Rosa und Peter Paul Rubens.
An art educator of the Paintings Gallery of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna will accompany you through the exhibition.
