Univ.-Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Dr.-Ing. Angelika Schnell

Angelika Schnell is a Professor for architectural theory, architectural history and design, Academy of Fine Arts Vienna (since 2009). Study of Theatre Science and Architecture at the LMU Munich, TU Berlin and TU Delft. PhD on the theoretical work of Aldo Rossi (summa cum laude). From 1993 until 2001 editor of ARCH+, since 1999 teaching positions in architectural theory and architectural history at the TU Berlin, State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart Stuttgart, University Groningen and University Innsbruck. Member of the editorial boards of ARCH+ and Candide, Co-editor of Bauwelt Fundamente, Birkhäuser Publishers, Basel/Berlin. Research foci on the relationship between architecture and urbanism in the 20th and 21st centuries, in particular on the criticism of modernism and its historiographical conception, on design methods and their transdisciplinary interconnections.
