Lecture by Fiona Connor as part of the Ringvorlesung of the Institute of Fine Arts, organized by the Studio Art and Space | Installation.

The artist will talk about recent projects she is working on including The Long Tail, Newsletter Volume #2 which will be released on the occasion of this event.

Fiona Connor (b. 1981, Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland) lives and works in Los Angeles. 

Vital, recurring concerns in her practice include the social and psychological life of the object, the politics of camouflage and mimesis, and the ethics and aesthetics of the built environment.

Connor has taught at UCLA Department of Art’s M.F.A Program (2025); ArtCenter College of Design (2019-2025); Visiting Critic, Sculpture, Yale School of Art (2021-2025); UCLA School of Art Undergraduate Program (2017-2023). She studied at University of Auckland’s Elam School of Fine Arts (BA/BFA 2004), University of California San Diego (BA majoring in History 2008) and California Institute of the Arts (MFA 2011).
