Opening of the exhibition “Objects, Design, Lifeworlds, Entanglement”, part of the Erasmus+ project “Textile Healing and Social Justice”, initiated by the University of Namibia, the University of Johannesburg, and the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. Organized by Design in Context, Fashion and Styles.

The project opens spaces for agency and critical reflection, engaging decolonial perspectives on fashion, design, art, and material culture.

The exhibition unfolds as a constellation of shared positions, observations, and experiences—co-designed and collectively brought forth by participating students. It occupies space, shifts perspectives, and invites engagement in dialogue. Conceived as an open process, it remains permeable to exchange and continually evolves within the tensions of encounter, negotiation, and transformation.

With works by Nasief Davis, Sophie Dögl, Olivia Gründler, Katleho Kivido, Promise Mtshana, Nasch Neugebauer, Sidonie Sagmeister, Zoé Schwarz, Lwazi Sigwaza, and Kelebogile Thoka.

They enter into polyphonic dialogues with the positions of Tinyiko Baloyi, Maria Caley & Loini Iizyenda, and Kiara Gounder & Khaya Mchunu within the exhibition “Making, Memory and Resistance”.
