OeAW | APART-GSK
APART-GSK is a funding programme for excellent junior scholars in the humanities and the social and cultural sciences (GSK) in the first post-doc phase of their careers.
Target group
Applications are invited from post-docs from Austria and abroad in the humanities and social and cultural sciences who
- finished their doctorate/PhD no longer than three years before applying,
- submit a project that is innovative in terms of content or method and
- can already demonstrate outstanding publications.
The project can be implemented at any suitable Austrian research institution, although part of the funding period can also be spent abroad.
Funding duration and sum
- 36 or 48 months
- The amount of the fellowship is adjusted every year; for more information, see: Fellowship rates. For 2025, the fellowship rate for APART-GSK was 89,100 euros per annum.

Additional funds of max. 12,000 euros per year can be applied for project-specific travel and material costs as well as other costs (e.g. publications in Open Access journals, coaching or personnel development measures, etc.).

A cost subsidy of max. 2,000 euros (gross/gross) per year is provided for childcare.

Applications can be submitted until 30 March 2026.
